Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE)

The BMWE performs legislative, administrative, and coordinating functions in areas such as energy, industrial and innovation policy, as well as competition, SME, and European policy. It pursues a trade policy aimed at opening markets, including in regions beyond Europe. AHK Azerbaijan receives partial funding from the BMWE by resolution of the German Bundestag.

The DIHK is the umbrella organization of the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs and AHKs), representing the entire commercial economy in Germany. It serves over three million businesses and expresses the joint position of the chambers at national, European, and international levels.

Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs)

Germany’s 79 IHKs are self-governing public-law institutions. As institutions of business for business, they act as the key representatives of all commercial enterprises in their respective regions. They perform public administrative functions and serve their member companies as service-oriented advisors and competent intermediaries in many local, regional, and national matters.

The AHK network consists of bilateral German Chambers of Commerce Abroad, delegations, and representative offices of German business. With more than 130 offices in 90 countries, AHKs advise, support, and represent German companies seeking to establish or expand their international business. The AHKs are member-based organizations with around 45,000 member companies worldwide.

GTAI is the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss)

Since 1952, the Eastern Committee has represented the interests of the German business community in Eastern Europe. In collaboration with the German government, it organizes high-level dialogues between Eastern European government officials and German companies, as well as expert seminars, delegation visits, and other initiatives to strengthen economic ties with the region.
