Each edition of AHK Impuls centers around a current economic theme, introduced by a keynote presentation from a distinguished speaker. The event also serves as a platform for both new and long-standing members to showcase their companies and engage with fellow members, business leaders, and partner organizations.
The evening concludes with a networking reception and buffet, offering attendees an opportunity for informal discussions and deeper connection-building in a relaxed setting.

11.03.2026: Arbitration for Business Impact: Building Trust through International Arbitration
AHK Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the Baku Arbitration Centre, hosted its AHK Impuls event on the theme “Arbitration for Business Impact: Building Trust through International Arbitration.” The event explored how evolving dispute resolution mechanisms are strengthening international trade and supporting regional commercial stability.
Our keynote speaker, Kamalia Mehdiyeva, President of the Board of Directors of the Baku Arbitration Centre, provided a comprehensive overview of arbitration’s global impact and its growing importance for businesses operating internationally. She highlighted several key advantages of arbitration, including faster dispute resolution, flexible procedures tailored to the parties’ needs, the ability to select independent and neutral arbitrators, and confidentiality that protects sensitive business information.
As part of the spotlight on the Baku Arbitration Centre, Kamala Mehdiyeva announced that the Centre has been shortlisted for the Global Arbitration Review Awards in the category “Regional Arbitral Institution that Impressed.”
Participants were also introduced to the Arbitration Rules developed by the Baku Arbitration Centre, which establish a structured and transparent framework for dispute resolution. The document is available here: Arbitration Rules – Baku Arbitration Centre.
Another important point highlighted was the competitive and cost-effective nature of the arbitration services offered by the Baku Arbitration Centre, particularly compared with arbitration institutions in regional markets such as Kazakhstan, and Türkiye. This makes the Centre an attractive option for businesses seeking efficient and affordable dispute resolution.
The event also featured a dynamic panel session on the Role of Arbitration in Dispute Resolution, where panelists shared valuable sectoral insights and emphasized arbitration’s vital role in international partnerships, where neutral and flexible dispute resolution mechanisms are essential.

17.10.2024: 2nd AHK Impuls on COP29
On October 17, 2024, the AHK Azerbaijan organized an AHK Impuls event on the topic of COP29 as part of the series “Innovate, Collaborate, Transform – Building a Sustainable Tomorrow.” The event brought together more than 70 representatives from member companies and partners.
The Guests of Honour were Kamal Abbasov, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Sevinj Fataliyeva, Member of the Milli Majlis and member of the COP29 Organizing Committee. They provided insights into developments in renewable energy and preparations for COP29 in Azerbaijan. A welcoming address was also delivered by Heiko Schwarz, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Azerbaijan.
A panel discussion titled “ESG Impacts on Sustainable Development: Energy, Transport and Construction” was a central part of the event, during which leading representatives from business and consulting discussed sustainability strategies and ESG initiatives.

13.06.2024: Kick-Off AHK Impuls on COP29
"Innovate, Collaborate, Transform - Expectations for COP29"
On June 13, 2024, the AHK Azerbaijan initiated a series of events themed "Innovate, Collaborate, Transform - Expectations for COP29" to prepare for the forthcoming COP29 in Azerbaijan. The kickoff event, AHK Impuls on COP29, featured around 100 representatives from member companies and partners of the Chamber. Honorary guest of the event, Ms Nigar Arpadarai, UN Climate Change High-Level Champion for COP29 Azerbaijan, provided exclusive insights into the upcoming COP29. Following this, there was an insightful panel discussion with prominent business representatives.
Member of AHK Azerbaijan Board, Mr Farid Guliyev, greeted the event participants in the opening speech of the meeting and gave an overview of the event's agenda. Then he gave the floor to Dr Ralf Horlemann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan.
28.02.2024: Overview and Reforms in Azerbaijan’s Electricity Sector
On February 28, the AHK Azerbaijan organized another AHK Impuls event, bringing together more than 70 representatives from member companies, partner organizations, and the delegation of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.
The Guest of Honour was Dr. Samir Akhundov, Chairman of the Board of the Energy Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who delivered a presentation titled “Azerbaijan’s Electricity Sector: Brief Overview and Reforms.” Further contributions were made by Dr. Michael Hilmer (Uniper Global Commodities SE) and Olaf Letzel (Schneider Group).
The discussions focused on current developments and reforms in Azerbaijan’s electricity and energy sector, particularly legal frameworks, market liberalization, and renewable energy.

01.11.2023: Advancing Competition and Public Procurement: Regulatory Reforms
On 1 November 2023, the AHK Azerbaijan organized an AHK Impuls event for its member companies. The Guest of Honour, Mr Mammad Aslan Abbasbeyli, Head of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, delivered a presentation on “Advancing Competition and Public Procurement: Regulatory Reforms.” This was followed by a workshop led by Mr Ahmad Hasanov, Head of the Public Procurement Department of the State Service.
The event was opened by AHK Azerbaijan’s Executive Director, Mr Tobias Baumann. The discussions focused on recent reforms in competition legislation and public procurement, including digitalization, transparency, and improved regulatory frameworks.
The event concluded with a Q&A session and a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for direct dialogue between business representatives and public authorities.
04.07.2023: Current Customs Regulations in Azerbaijan
On 4 July 2023, the AHK Azerbaijan organized an AHK Impuls event with the participation of over 70 representatives from member companies and partners. The Guest of Honour, Mr Shahin Baghirov, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation on “Customs Regulations in Azerbaijan: Current Trends and Enhancing Public-Private Cooperation.”
The event was opened by AHK Azerbaijan’s Executive Director, Mr Tobias Baumann. Additional insights were provided by Ms Sevinj Rahimova, Founder and Director of SERA Holding LLC, who presented the services and activities of Smart Finans LLC.
Mr Baghirov highlighted ongoing customs reforms, digitalization initiatives, transparency, and the importance of public–private cooperation, including the implementation of electronic customs systems and risk management mechanisms.

07.04.2023: Reconstruction and Investment Opportunities in Karabakh
On 7 April 2023, the AHK Azerbaijan organized an AHK Impuls event with the participation of over 60 representatives from member companies and partners. The Guest of Honour, Mr Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (excluding Shusha district), delivered a presentation on “Reconstruction Works and Investment Opportunities in the Liberated Territories of the Karabakh Economic Region.”
The discussions focused on reconstruction efforts, investment potential, and priority sectors such as agriculture, tourism, mining, infrastructure, and renewable energy, including plans to develop Karabakh as a green energy zone.
Mr Huseynov also highlighted the role of German companies in Azerbaijan’s economy and emphasized opportunities for further cooperation in the Karabakh region.
