Review of Activities, Election of New Board Members, and Member Recognition

The agenda of the Assembly covers several key points. Members are informed about the recent achievements and future initiatives of the AHK. This informative presentation is followed by discussions on budget allocation and the approval of the annual report. New members are introduced, and their membership is formally confirmed through the presentation of membership certificates. The Members’ Assembly is also authorized to elect the Board of Directors and to approve amendments to the Charter of AHK Azerbaijan.

07.05.2025: AHK Members’ Assembly

On May 7, 2025, the AHK Azerbaijan held its Members’ Assembly with over 100 representatives from the business community. Chairman of the Board Anar Hasanov reported that 21 new members had joined so far this year, bringing the total number of companies to 194. He presented recent activities and working groups and announced the launch of a new Public Relations and Communications Working Group as well as upcoming delegation trips and events.

Executive Director Nargis Wieck outlined the Chamber’s strategic vision, focusing on stronger political advocacy, improved networking platforms, and increased visibility for member companies. She emphasized AHK’s role as the united voice of its members in both countries and highlighted the importance of bilateral projects and strategic partnerships.

Ambassador Dr. Ralf Horlemann praised the significance of economic cooperation between Germany and Azerbaijan and underlined the role of renewable energy for Azerbaijan’s position in the European energy market. He referred to the upcoming 10th session of the German-Azerbaijani High-Level Working Group on Trade and Investments as an opportunity to deepen cooperation and encouraged AHK members to actively participate.

The meeting concluded with the introduction of new members and a business dinner, providing opportunities for networking and collaboration.

18.12.2024: AHK Members’ Assembly

On December 18, 2024, the AHK Azerbaijan held its biannual Members’ Assembly with over 80 participants from the business community. Chairman of the Board Anar Hasanov announced that 15 new companies had joined the Chamber in the past six months, bringing the total membership to 196. He emphasized the important role of the working groups and reported on delegation trips, B2B, and social events held during the past year. He also expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their support.

Ambassador Dr. Ralf Horlemann highlighted AHK’s significant involvement in COP29 and underlined the opportunities for strengthened German-Azerbaijani cooperation, especially in the field of energy transition. Newly appointed Executive Director Nargis Wieck emphasized Azerbaijan’s strategic importance as a partner for Germany and highlighted the diverse business opportunities for German companies.

Following the financial report presented by Board Member Farid Guliyev, Zalbey Agadadashov, Vugar Hajiyev, and Zahra Aliyeva were elected as internal auditors for 2025. The meeting concluded with the introduction of new members and a business dinner, providing valuable networking opportunities.

21.05.2024: AHK Members’ Assembly

On 21 May 2024, the AHK Azerbaijan held its semi-annual general assembly with over 80 participants from business and politics. Mr. Anar Hasanov, Chairman of the Board, opened the session, praised the increasing number of members and the engagement of working groups. Ambassador Dr. Ralf Horlemann reported on the intense diplomatic activities in recent months, including the visit of the Azerbaijani President to Germany and the upcoming COP29 in Azerbaijan. The planned business trip of the Eastern Committee to Baku was also announced. The assembly ended with a joint business dinner.

29.11.2023: AHK Members’ Assembly

On 29 November 2023, around 100 representatives from various sectors gathered for the AHK Azerbaijan’s semi-annual Members' Assembly. Mr. Anar Hasanov informed about the positive growth in membership and the success of several online and in-person events. Guest speakers from the tourism sector, including Mr. Florian Sengstschmid from the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, participated. Mr. Heiko Schwarz from the German Embassy emphasized the importance of bilateral relations and welcomed the members. The assembly provided a platform for exchange and promotion of German-Azerbaijani economic cooperation.

17.05.2023: AHK Members’ Assembly

On 17 May 2023, about 90 members met for the AHK Azerbaijan’s semi-annual Members' Assembly. Mr. Anar Hasanov praised the Chamber’s work and the admission of 14 new companies. Ambassador Dr. Ralf Horlemann highlighted the close cooperation between Germany and Azerbaijan, especially after the President’s visit to Germany. Mr. Tobias Baumann, board member, presented a report on the Chamber’s financial status and upcoming projects. The 2023 budget was unanimously approved. The event concluded with a business dinner and live music.
