About the Role

The German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) is seeking an accountant. The candidate should have a strong background in accounting & reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on professional to join a small but experienced organization and work in an industry-focused environment.

As Accountant, you report directly to the Executive Director. You will be responsible for financial reporting and budgeting, payroll, accounts payable and receivable. You provide pro-active, timely, accurate professional support to internal and external clients working very closely with the various departments. More specifically the key responsibilities will include: 

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Financial Reporting

  • Yearly, quarterly and monthly planning, tracking and forecasting of financial indicators
  • Managing and overseeing all financial procedures, including budget accounting, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow and the implementation of financial guidelines
  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and producing financial statements and reports to management
  • Preparation of financial statements for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK)
  • Establishing and enforcing proper financial and accounting methods, internal processes and digital tools related to financial controlling with respect to both Azerbaijani and German legal requirements
  • Manage contract administration, ensuring all paperwork is accurately drafted, reviewed, and implemented in compliance with finance-related laws, procedures and regulations such as tax filling and financial reporting standards.

Bookkeeping and Taxation

  • Accounts receivable including invoicing and collections, travel expenses and general ledger accounting
  • Accounts payable and reconciliations

Payroll

  • Processing payroll and all related reporting
  • Handling of payroll tax and retirement matters

General

  • Completion of tasks in Human Resources administration i.e. preparation, conclusion, and management of employment contracts with employees, as well as maintenance of the online systems of the Ministry of Labor.
  • Coordination of insurance matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Financial Business Management or Accounting
  • Significant work experience in finance and/or accounting (5 years minimum)
  • Possesses extremely strong analytical, financial modeling, presentation, and negotiation skills 
  • Detail-oriented, and an excellent written and oral communication skills in English, German (preferred) is an advantage.
  • Deliver results and successfully close procedures according to brief
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Accounting software (C1)
  • Experience supporting in HR/ IT for a business (highly desirable)

Event/Project Management

German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) is looking for an employee for the Business Services Department.

About AHK Azerbaijan:

The AHK Azerbaijan is the official representative of the German economy in Azerbaijan. We support German and Azerbaijani companies in their business activities and organize several network events every year.

Duties and responsibilities: 

Event/Project Management 

  • Developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule and budget;
  • Monitoring overall progress and using of resources, managing project risks, initiating corrective action where necessary;
  • Communicating project progress and identifying risks to stakeholders and upper management;
  • Organization of seminars, workshops and forums;
  • Accompanying delegates in Germany and Azerbaijan (if required);
  • Planning, conception and organization of social events;
  • Acquiring and overseeing the services of external providers, such as identifying suitable venues, catering, lighting and sound equipment, moderators and singers, translation equipment, and translators (for forums, workshops, etc.);
  • Coordinating tasks and responsibilities, team meetings;
  • Coordination of project/ event marketing campaign;
  • Communication with customers and partners;
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Representation of Messe München in Azerbaijan and Georgia:

Support for visitors

  • Information on all trade exhibitions in Munich.
  • Information on travel options and hotels (if required);
  • Support in the provision of trade fair tickets.
  • Visa support (Invitation letter);
  • Organization of group travel (if required);
  • Organisation of B2B meetings and translation services (if required).

Support for exhibitors

  • Advice on the organisation of a stand;
  • Help in applying for an exhibition stand;
  • Organisation of joint stands (together with other exhibitors);
  • Advice on printed materials and promotional items. 

Trade Fairs in Azerbaijan:

  • Acquiring exhibitors (German companies) for the selected trade fairs of Caspian Event Organiser LLC (CEO LLC).

Qualifications: 

  • University Degree in Social and Political Sciences, Media Science or Economics;
  • Knowledge of English and Azerbaijani languages at an advanced level (both oral and written communication); German knowledge would be an advantage;
  • At least two years of experience in implementing events/projects;
  • Organizational skills, strong communication skills, adaptability, flexibility, punctuality, negotiation and sales skills, teamwork skills, customer service orientation approach.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
  • Ability and willingness to travel regionally and internationally

Praktikum für deutsche Bewerber

Für unsere Deutsch-Aserbaidschanische Auslandshandelskammer suchen wir zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine/n Praktikant/in aus Deutschland.

Praktikumszeitraum:

  • 3 bis 6 Monate
