On 09 December 2021, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) organised the Networking Booster Event “Fit for Partnership with Germany” dedicated exclusively to Alumni of the Manager Training Programme and aimed at fostering Alumni networks in Azerbaijan. The networking event was organised on behalf of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and in close cooperation with the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the AzerbaijaniGerman-Alumni Club. To date, more than 15,000 executives from 21 countries have taken part in the Manager Training Programme initiated by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWi). The programme helps to forge business contacts, mainly between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the partner countries and Germany.
Mr. Tobias Baumann, Executive Director of AHK Azerbaijan, opened the event with a welcoming speech and briefed participants about the current economic framework in Azerbaijan.
The opening session was also attended by Mrs. Zubeyde Oyan, Economic Attaché at the German Embassy, Mr. Markus Weichert, Policy Officer of BMWi, Mr. Zaur Gardashov, Advisor to the Chairman at the SMB Development Agency, and Mrs. Olga Ivchanskiy, Senior Project Manager of the Programme. They discussed the importance of this Programme in optimising work processes and marketing strategies, creating synergies, and establishing new business contacts with Germany.
After the opening session, Mr. Christian Kramberg, Chairman Alumni-clubs.net e.V. DACHVerband der Alumni-Organisationen, and Mr. Andreas Jahn, Member of the Federal Executive Board, German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW) delivered presentations on “Starting a business club & networking opportunities and chances”.
The event provided the Alumni with the opportunity to clarify outstanding questions and discuss the business chances they can access through the Manager Training Programme.
The Networking Booster Event was concluded with the networking dinner.
The event was held in the Hyatt Regency Meeting & Conference Centre in strict compliance with all requirements of a quarantine regime and recommendations for safety and health.
