AHK Members’ Assembly was held with the participation of over 80 business representatives
On December 18, 2024, the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) hosted its Members' General Meeting, welcoming over 80 representatives from the business community. Held twice annually, this key event unites all AHK members to reflect on the Chamber’s yearly activities, celebrate achievements, and discuss future goals.
The meeting commenced with a welcoming address by Mr. Anar Hasanov, Chairman of the Board of AHK Azerbaijan. He announced that 15 new companies joined AHK Azerbaijan at last 6 months in 2024, bringing the total membership to 196 companies from Germany and Azerbaijan, spanning various industries. He remarked, “The commitment and quality of our Chamber’s work continue to attract companies from diverse sectors, which is a testament to our shared success.” Mr. Anar Hasanov highlighted AHK Azerbaijan's activities over the past months, emphasizing the impactful contributions of the working groups to the Chamber’s success. He acknowledged the dedication and initiatives of the working group chairs during 2024, commending their active efforts in driving positive outcomes alongside the Chamber. He continued by presenting an overview of the Chamber’s diverse activities, including delegation trips, B2B and social events held over the past year. Additionally, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the companies that generously provided sponsorship support for AHK Azerbaijan’s projects, recognizing their vital role in the Chamber’s achievements.
Following his remarks, Dr. Ralf Horlemann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan, addressed the attendees. He spoke about the German Embassy’s initiatives during COP29, including facilitating business visits for over 300 German delegates to Azerbaijan. The Ambassador praised AHK Azerbaijan’s significant contributions during COP29 and shared his optimism for a strengthened German-Azerbaijani partnership in the post-COP29 era, particularly in the transformation of energy system.
Nargis Wieck, the newly appointed Executive Director of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce, introduced herself to the attendees. She expressed her delight at being in Azerbaijan, stating:
"Azerbaijan is a strategically important partner for both Europe and Germany. Beyond its pivotal role in energy and logistics, the country offers a wealth of business opportunities. As Azerbaijan strives to modernize its economy, develop key industries, and enhance domestic value creation, German technology and solution providers have a unique opportunity to contribute their expertise as trusted partners."
Her remarks underscored the potential for strengthened collaboration between Germany and Azerbaijan across various sectors.
Later, Board Member Farid Guliyev presented the financial report for the previous year and oversaw the quorum for appointing internal auditors for 2025. Following the votes cast by member companies, Zalbey Agadadashov (Director, Turan Legal and Tax LLC), Vugar Hajiyev (QHSE Team Leader, PMD Project LLC), and Zahra Aliyeva (Director, German Language Training Center) were elected as internal auditors.
The meeting concluded with the introduction of new members and a business dinner, providing a valuable opportunity for networking and fostering collaboration.
