"Innovations in Railroad Technology in Azerbaijan: Partnerships and Opportunities for German Companies"
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan) is organising a business initiation trip to Azerbaijan from 21 to 25 October 2024 on the topic of ‘Railway construction, railway technology and rail transport’ in close cooperation with COMMIT Project Partners GmbH, the German Railway Industry Association (VDB) and the Center for Transportation & Logistics - Neuer Adler e.V. (CNA).
As part of this exciting five-day business initiative trip, the AHK Azerbaijan brought together industry leaders and innovators on October 22, 2024, for a German-Azerbaijani Business Forum titled "Innovations in Railroad Technology in Azerbaijan: Partnerships and Opportunities for German Companies" at the Four Seasons Hotel Baku.
The official welcome kicked off the event on an inspiring note, with remarks from:
- Anar Hasanov, Chairman of the Board, AHK Azerbaijan,
- Heiko Schwarz, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy Baku,
- Irina Kalinina, Project Manager, COMMIT Project Partners GmbH,
- The event was moderated by Farid Guliyev, Member of the Board, AHK Azerbaijan.
Key presentations on Azerbaijan's business climate highlighted the country's promising developments in the railway sector. Notable speakers included:
- Emin Guliyev, Head of the Projects Management Division, AZerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO, gave a presentation on "Business Climate in Azerbaijan".
- Orkhan Ahmadzada, Acting Head of Research and Development Center, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, presented on "Ongoing Projects and Future Plans".
- Eugene Seah, Chief Operating Officer, Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC, gave the audience insights on “Sustainable Port Infrastructure in Azerbaijan”.
Attention then turned to the participating German companies presenting their innovative products and solutions. German companies represented:
